Pathology

At Family Medical Practices, we use a well-equipped pathology laboratory that offers a wide range of pathology services to our patients and to the community.

Our state-of-the-art laboratory delivers an extensive range of pathology services including biochemistry, microbiology, histology, haematology, immunology and cytology. Trained professionals ensure safety and provide reliable results.

All test results are automatically processed and sent back to your GP electronically to be securely stored in your patient file and therefore can be monitored over time. In addition, patients are advised that they follow up on their own test results. Of course, we will contact you about any results that we feel need urgent attention. However, for less urgent matters, a notation would be added to your records, so that the relevant matter is discussed the next time you visit the doctor.

Please be aware that it is your responsibility to follow up on results of any investigations performed.

A doctor’s referral is required.
